Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 8, 2026
Sierra Nevada Off Road Academy (SNVORA) is a California-based off-road driving school. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and how long we keep it. We wrote it to be read, not to be survived. If anything here is unclear, email us at training@snvora.com.
What we collect
When you visit our website. We use Google Analytics (through Google Tag Manager) to understand how people find and use our site: pages viewed, general location, device and browser type, and how you arrived. This is standard website analytics. It does not identify you by name.
When you contact us. Our contact form and our fire department and agency inquiry form collect the details you enter, such as your name, email, and message. Those submissions are sent to us at training@snvora.com.
When you book a class. Booking a course collects the information we need to run a safe class and process your payment: your name, email, phone number, emergency contact, and any medical information relevant to your safety on the trail. Payment is handled by Stripe. We do not see or store your full card number.
How we use it
- To run the class you signed up for, and to reach you about it.
- To keep you safe on the trail. Medical information exists so your instructors know what they need to know before you are on the terrain.
- To process your payment.
- To improve our website and understand what our audience is looking for.
- To send you updates you asked for, such as our newsletter. You can opt out any time.
We do not sell your personal information.
Who we share it with
We share information only with the service providers that make the business run:
- Google Analytics - website usage measurement.
- Netlify - hosts our website and delivers our contact and inquiry form submissions to us.
- Stripe - processes payments securely. Your payment details go to Stripe, not to us.
Each of these providers handles data under its own privacy terms. We share what a provider needs to do its job, and no more.
Your medical information
We collect medical details from students because off-road driving carries real physical risk and instructors need this information before you are on the trail. We treat it carefully:
- It is shared only with your instructors, so they can run your class safely.
- It is never used for marketing and never sold.
- We keep it for three years after your last class, then remove the medical details from our active records. We keep your signed waiver on file separately, as described below.
How long we keep your information
- Medical and intake details: three years after your last class, then removed from active records.
- Signed liability waivers: at least seven years after the class, because a signed waiver is a legal record.
- Booking and payment records: seven years, to meet standard business and tax recordkeeping.
- Email send logs (records that a confirmation or reminder went out): about two years.
Your choices
You can:
- Unsubscribe from our newsletter using the link in any email.
- Ask us what information we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct it.
- Ask us to delete it.
To make any of these requests, email training@snvora.com. We will confirm what you are asking for and take care of it. Some records we are required to keep even after a deletion request, specifically your signed waiver and your payment record, for the legal and tax reasons above. We will tell you plainly what we kept and why.
If you are a California resident, you can use the same email to reach us about your information.
Cookies and analytics
Our site uses cookies and similar tools, mainly through Google Analytics, to measure site usage. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings. Blocking them will not stop you from booking a class.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and change the date at the top.
